WHEN Manie Strydom (jr) and his father Manie (sr) were introduced to Eco Wash at their Engen Sherwood Service Station in Brakpan-North, Gauteng, they immediately replaced their conventional water wash.

Manie (jr) tells: “We’ve been in business here since 1992 and we have a big and established base of car washing customers, but the water bill is high, up to R7,500 per month some times, and we’ve had some serious problem with maintenance of the old washing equipment. First of all there has never been back-up service from the people who installed it years ago and it’s been very expensive to maintain.

“Nobody is installing the old conventional big brush car washing systems anymore, we’ve had to fix everything ourselves at high cost. Now that we’ve removed it from our premises for Eco Wash, the savings are considerable. We haven’t lost any customers, some know about Eco Wash and others are quite surprised when they see how well it works. We can wash up to 30 on an ordinary business day and more than double that on Saturdays and Sundays.

“I am very happy with Eco Wash. The product works and the back-up service has been good. Of course like any other business you have to be on the site to control and keep an eye on things, we have a hands-on business and that’s an important reason why we are successful.”
